2022 Midterms Roundtable With Jill Filipovic, Moderated by Dr. Mònica Clua-Losada

Used with permission.

Next week, on Monday November 21, 2022, I’ll be participating in an online roundtable with journalist Jill Filipovic on the topic of the 2022 midterm elections. The roundtable, hosted publicly via Zoom, will be moderated by Dr. Mònica Clua-Losada and will be conducted live in English.

We’ll be discussing the results and political dynamics of the 2022 midterm elections in the United States. I’m hoping to contribute a unique perspective as a journalist on election issues at the intersection of South Texas politics, border communities, Spanish speakers, and latino voters.

Filipovic, who is based in Brooklyn, is a a journalist, lawyer, and author of “OK Boomer, Let’s Talk: How My Generation Got Left Behind” and “The H-Spot: The Feminist Pursuit of Happiness”. She has covered human rights and women’s health issues from more than a dozen countries, and is a columnist who often writes on US politics and international affairs.

Dr. Mònica Clua-Losada, who is moderating the roundtable discussion, is Full Professor in Global Political Economy at the Department of Political Science at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She is the co-editor in chief of the new academic journal Global Political Economy.

Dr. Clua-Losada is also the Vice President of the Association of Political Science of Catalonia, one of the organizations co-hosting the event. The Association of Political scientists & Sociologists of Catalonia is also co-hosting.
